U. S. College Books: Average Prices and Price Indexes, 2006
The May issue of Choice has just published the average price of U. S. college books by discipline. For most of the disciplines for which I am liaison, here are the prices for 2006 (using 1989 as base year):Biology -- Botany -- $ 73.06
Biology -- Zoology -- $ 66.16
Chemistry -- $110.55
Earth Science -- $ 61.15
Engineering -- $107.70
Health Sciences -- $ 61.15
Info & Comp Sci -- $ 57.19
Math -- $71.00
Physics -- $ 67.93
Sports & Phys Ed -- $ 40.39
The average price for all disciplines for 2006 is $ 56.24.
